Company & Position Overview

Ransome has multiple Service Management opportunities available at a variety of our locations. The service managers are responsible for customer interface, scheduling work, assisting with employee development, as well as other key operational duties and safety.

Responsibilities & Operational Functions

  • Schedule field or shop repairs and services
  • Ensure issues are scheduled in a timely manner
  • Minimize lost and down time
  • Provide outstanding customer service during difficult and stressful issues
  • Provide technical support to both customers and technicians
  • Open, maintain and close work orders
  • Order parts
  • Follow through on parts/miscellaneous orders
  • Coordinate all unscheduled technician time for billable use
  • Maintain good relations with other branches and departments
  • Keep records of technician vacation
  • Manage technician’s time
  • Quote repairs
  • Information entry (Time cards, Reports)

Qualifications & Skills

    • Service Writer or Service Management experience is required; diesel field or similar preferred
    • Work order management experience
    • Phone skills
    • Ability to maintain composure in stressful situations
    • Sense of urgency
    • Customer relations; positive and upbeat
    • Computer usage
    • Organizational skills
    • Outstanding follow up skills
    • Multitasking experience a must
    • Decision making and good judgment skills
