Company & Position Overview

Ransome Rents, is seeking a Rental Coordinator to join their Rental Division in Bear, DE.   This person will assist customers with equipment, tooling and supply needs; schedule and assign pick up and delivery of equipment; and coordinate repairs/availability with the Service Department. Excellent customer service, organizational and computer skills are a must.  

 

This is an excellent growth opportunity for someone who is interested in a management/operations career, recent college graduates, or those with experience in a dealership or construction environment with business aptitude!

Responsibilities & Operational Functions

Operational Functions:

  • Discuss customer needs and suggest the most suitable and safe equipment for the application.
  • Work closely with all personnel to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Promote add-on sales and sell merchandise items from the rental store.
  • Provide information to customers about related equipment and services available in the local market area.
  • Determine delivery conditions such as dock heights, narrow streets, etc.
  • Notify customer immediately regarding any delivery delays.
  • Follow up on all overdue rental contracts.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Open branch for business prior to hours of operation each day.
  • Answer incoming calls.  Fill out phone logs completely and consistently.
  • Close branch and ensure billings are completed
  • Ensure deliveries for the next day are logged and written in order
  • On a daily basis, check for credit limit violations on 100% of rental reservations for credit customers and obtain required credit approvals.
  • Credit applications to be checked for accuracy and completion before forwarding to credit for processing.
  • Computer records updated daily.
  • Deliveries, pickups, swaps, non-revenue movements etc. documented in a timely fashion.
  • Maintain knowledge of competitive pricing and practices.
  • Understand and be able to effectively communicate equipment applications and key performance specifications.
  • Follow established procedure to communicate with Service Department on equipment related issues.

 

Qualifications & Skills

Skills Desired:

  • Proven multi-tasking skills and ability to juggle multiple priorities
  • Sales experience preferred 
  • Interest in construction equipment
  • 2-4 year college degree in business or related field preferred
