Ransome is a family owned Caterpillar dealer serving parts of Southeastern PA, Southern NJ and Northern DE.   

 

Our Power Systems Division provides emergency power, backup power and main power for many of the local hospitals, universities, large corporations and municipalities. We are the Power Generation leader in the Tri-State area. 

 

Due to our continued growth our Power Systems Division has an opportunity for a generator technician for Lehigh Valley Territory.  The EPG Technician will provide exceptional service to customers by inspecting maintaining, diagnosing, and repairing Caterpillar Power Generation, Engines and Industrial equipment.  The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 1-3 years performing preventative maintenance and troubleshooting of industrial generators. 

Responsibilities & Operational Functions

Troubleshoot, diagnose and repair power generation equipment, engines and related components.

  • Knowledge of Electric Power Generation equipment, engines and accessories,
  • Switchgear
  • Load banking
  • Paralleling
  • Automatic transfer switches and controls.
  • Ability to read electrical schematics, knowledge of proper electrical troubleshooting, and engine experience required.
  • Previous field experience helpful.
  • Must be a self-starter with good time management, planning, organization, and commitment to detail.
  • Excellent customer communication skills is necessary
  • Clean driving record
