Company & Position Overview

This position is responsible for performing high quality lubrication(to include oil and filter changes) and basic preventative maintenance on our Caterpillar construction equipment at our customer locations throughout the Chester County area.  This position requires that candidates are self motivated, detail oriented, can work in the field with little supervision, can work flexible hours and are able to interact with our customers.  Previous experience working on construction equipment is required. 


2nd Shift M-F

Responsibilities & Operational Functions

  • Draining and refilling of all fluids in large earthmoving equipment, including but not limited to hydraulic oils, engine oil, final drive oil, transmission oil, fuel and antifreeze. 
  • Inspection, removal and replacement of air filter assemblies, oil filters and fuel filters.  Replacement of worn and/or damaged hoses for fuel system, coolant, and hydraulic oil. 
  • Use of mechanic’s hand and air powered tools to remove drain plugs, filters, hoses and other components of large earthmoving equipment.
  • Use of small hand pump to collect oil samples for laboratory testing.
  • Write up detailed service reports, look-up parts, and complete parts order requisitions and other related paperwork.
  • Operate forklift truck, overhead crane, mobile crane and heavy service truck.


Qualifications & Skills

  • Minimum of 2 years experience working on construction equipment
  • Certificate from a 1 or 2 year diesel college preferred
  • Detail oriented
  • Ability to work flexible hours
  • Can work under little supervision
  • Experienced and knowledgeable mechanic familiar with both CAT and competitive equipment.
  • Knowledge of preventive maintenance practices.
  • Good customer service and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven mechanical problem-solving and trouble-shooting abilities.
  • Must be self-motivated.
  • Willing to work days or evenings as situation dictates.
  • Candidate must be available to work overtime when required
  • Must have valid driver's license
  • Current CDL Class B is required, or ability to obtain within 90 days
